HGMA #1 lived quietly; it was spearheaded by an adjunct to Self-Soar Association; HGMA #1 lives on in US Hawks forum.
Following HGMA #1 was HGMA #2 which lasted until June of 2022 when it was dissolved for insufficient hang glider manufacturing in the world; there was not enough activity to support the continuance of the association.
Now, look to a period of DIY hang glider manufacturing, EAA-type hang glider manufacturing, and certification systems anew by who knows what process?
HGMA#1 was without dues and remains so.
HGMA#2 had pay-as-you-go deals and did not represent all makers of hang gliders. HGMA#2 seemed to encourage an important strand of hang glider making, but discouraged, it seems, other strands of hang glider making. Here is the list of members that came in and many left:
Acme Glider Company
Airborne Australia
Albatross Sail Gliders
Altair
American Windwrights
Bill Bennett's Delta Wing Kites and Gliders
Blue Sky Aircraft Company
Chuck's Glider Supplies

That above list is not a complete list of makers of hang gliders, but those that at one time joined officially the HGMA #2
=======================================
Perhaps HGMA #1 could play into the future. Post the details of your hang glider makes here in the US Hawks forum. Tell what are the objectives of your make. Tell what tests have been done and the results. Etc. Open to all makers ... Omega Hang Gliders will be publishing its makes in the US Hawks Forum for all the world to review and appraise.
HGMA#1 sees as cousin: http://www.delta-club-82.com/ [b] as something to develop further.[/b

HGMA#1 is open to address all types of hang gliders for all types of flying. A hang glider that is meant only for no-wind ground-skimming hops of 10-ft flight distances is welcome to be described and reviewed. A hang glider meant for super acrobatics in and out of rough thermals is also welcome. Replicas of antique hang gliders are welcome to be made, described, reviewed. Third-party testing results are welcome. Users of a hang glider are welcome to tell of their experiences and tests.
