Flying Dreams

This topic is dedicated to flying dreams.

So I woke up last night with a mental streaming. I think most of you call it dreaming.
For years I went a long time between dreams when I used to dream in color and flying by spreading my arms like wings.
I used to stretch my glide by pure will, in my dreams. Mostly over fields and creeks of my childhood farm.
Those were the best.

Thanks Warren. That's a nice opening for this topic.    :salute:

I woke from a flying dream this morning.

In the dream I was flying with a friend, and we were both literally birds. When the dream started we were both perched on the lower third of a huge sloping cliff. She launched first and she began to climb with gentle flapping. I looked down before launching and I thought to myself:

"I'm glad I'm an experienced hang glider pilot or I'd be too afraid to launch."

Then I took to the air with a few gentle flaps and began following my friend. Throughout the flight I continued to be thankful for my hang gliding experience because I felt completely at home high in the air.

The location was unfamiliar to me. The sloping cliff face was gray rock with deep grooves. I would guess the cliff to be a few thousand feet in altitude. There was no wind for ridge soaring, but flight by flapping and gliding seemed relatively effortless - similar to walking for humans.

OK, I will just come out and say it: I dream about having Flights, Flights o a Type that will cause Pushback here on The Hawks Website. Yes i do dream of Flying My Predator and getting High, and Going Far. Look I realize that just talking about Flying XC may get Me Banned here on the Hawks. But Heck I do dream about Flying thus extending My Horizon.

So this Morning while not a Dream persaw, but via My Cell Phone I heard dREAM THAT a couple of Friends how they were getting ready to go and Fly, or wiLl actually in the Process of driving Towards a Mountain where They would be Launching from. I must say that I am very Jealous. Heck I mean it should be Me who is going to Fly today. i WAS TALKING WITH mY pILOT fRIEND dAN. hOW TODAY hE WOULD BE anding at a better LZ. than His Home site. We all know that any landing that is made away from One's Home LZ is a better Landing than compleating a Flight at One's Home LZ. Dan laughed. I wished Hima Get High, and Go Far. I am Jealous though.

Currently it is not looking so hot that I might actually break away from this Gravity securred Pennatentry that We all reside in. I guess tha5t most of You know that John coined that Expression. I for one like it. We al have had Flying Dreams. My Flying Dreams are more Vivid than ever. Heck, Maybe I am simply kidding Myself that I will Fly again. So it is True that I have not Flown My Predator in just over 13 Years. But not Flying does suck. So i try to make up for this defecate of Airtime. By My Dreaming about Flying.

When I was young, I had a recurring flying dream that I always enjoyed. In that dream, I had somehow figured out a precise shape in which to hold my body to gain lift as I flew through the air. I mostly remember doing it indoors where I could jump into the air and fly across a room and then make a gentle landing. In the dream, I would concentrate on keeping a specific arch in my back to maintain lift. I don't remember the exact years of those dreams, but I'm pretty sure they were after I had learned how airplane wings work. My sleeping brain had the right concepts, but it got the math wrong by a few orders of magnitude. :)

Well Dreaming about Flying is all the Flying that I am able to do. Just the other night in My Dream I was doing what some You May very well will do this weekend. Maybe some of You will have some Grand Flying experiences, Flying Your Gliders up in Sky, oh My.

Well in My Dream where I recall Flying Xc, I was as usual getting so low. Yet as I was Flying, I shifted into Search Mode. I was Flying over the Boundary line the seperated the Brown tilled Earth of the Dirt from the lush green Crops. I Zig Zagged back and forth over the dividing line back and forth, then through the Control Bar of My Predator. I felt Port side of My Glider rising. Bingo! Lift! I turned towards the Lift, I was turning around and and around. As I went up I adjusted My turn so as to maximas how well My Predator was Climbing. Well as I approached Cloud Base, it was time for Me to Head off. So Pulled in on the VG Chord and headed back on My Quest to extend My Horizon.

Ok I have been talking about doing what some of You will do this weekend. In fact i am sure that some of You will Fly Xc. Yet I am only able to Fly Xc in My Mind. I truly believe what Anitta said is true: "A Day without XC is like a Day without Sunshine" But the only Flying XC that I do as of late. Heck the only Flying that I do at all for that matter is the Flights that take place in My Mind.

So, Thirteen Years ago now I Finally did it. "IT" being I finally pounded. I mean I Really did Pond. Yes, after Twenty Years of Flying Blissfully, I had to pond. Nut I survived. I so hope to get back to Flying again. So, when John can swing it, He will come up here. We will Take Zacks Condor to some Training Hill where after thirteen Years. I will have a chance to Demonstrate to John that i can still Fly.
