Re: Dockweiler Lilienthal Event for 2024?

I really do hope to be down in Sandiego at the End of May, for the Otto Lilienthal Meet. I really want to show to everyone and especially Myself that I can make this happen finally this Year. I believe that I will Buy a Ticket so that I can take a ride down to San Diego on a Greyhound Bus. I have determined that a Ticket for a Bus ride will cost Me $72.00. If, and granted based on My previous failures to attend a Dockweiler Otto Lilienthal Meet. I understand how Bob for example might very well shake His head in Dismay upon reading this will say something like: Yea rite. I will believe it when I see Chris out on the Sand Dunes of Dockweiler.

Dockweiler is in Los Angeles area, not San Diego area.
So far, no "event" is supported. However, as often occurs, many pilots show birthday spirits near Otto Lilienthal's birthday at Dockweiler and other flight sites.

OK, I was talking to My Sister last Nite. I was telling Kathleen about My Plans to Finally this Year to actually get Myself down to Dockweiler Beach Down in San Diego in May. Ok: So, there must be People who can say to Me; Sure Chris, you should Fly on Airline X. Please give Me some ideas as to What Airline is the best choice. Thank You very much.

Dockweiler is near LAX. Flights might be explored.

Train from Sacramento to Union Station? Then bus-or-local-train to El Segundo might be explored.

Dockweiler is over 100 miles from San Diego, so one might not go to San Diego, but concentrate on getting to El Segundo area, near Dockweiler beach site.

Alternate considerations are the beach sites in northern California with spirited Otto Lilienthal flying and fellowship.

https://www.wanderu.com/ might be explored.

Well it is looking as though for Me anyways that History will repeat itself. History will repeat itself with a Twist. For quite Possibly down at Dock Weiler at the End of May I will experience that I had during My Very Forst Launch down at Rim area Beach down in New Zealand New Zealand. For it was down in New Zealand where I first launched a Hang Glider way back in January of 1991.

I am OK that I will experience the same emotions. Yes, the pure exhilaration of flight will happen not exactly as it was on that January Day. But even though History does not repeat itself, it Shur does Rym. I believe I will feel the same exhilaration that I will feel the same way, but so much stronger.

One may walk the full shoreline without interfering with hang gliding activity. The attached image shows parked cars and the hang glider freight-container office. The low slopes from top to bottom of the image are available for soaring hang gliders so long as AGL of 60 feet is maintained.
One may get measurements by using the legend at Google Maps at satellite view where each inch will be so many feet. Or one may get measures by estimating the length of cars and using such for measuring other distances on the image. The spotty green spots right of open sand field indicates where the slope exists. Very rarely does a glide reach the wet sand of the shoreline.

I am just wondering if I actually do make it down for the Otto Lilienthal Fly in that is held each Year down in San Diego. Well I just want to say that I have the Money to Buy My Plane Ticket. I just need to resolve where I will stay. That way I will be: The First "BRAIN DEAD PILOT" to launch a Glider from Dockweiler Beach.
One of the Pilots that I have Either spoken with or have spoken with by Phone, that Pilot would be "Bob". Anyways I am hoping to finally make <y way down to Dockweiler this Year after a couple of Failed attempts. But I am putting My Ducks in Order.

Good Ny; Chris McKeon Brain Dead Predator Pilot.
