At this year's celebration of Otto Lilienthal's birthday occurring at Dockweiler hang gliding site, "empty-hope wing" showed up and was photographed in poses with sever hang glider pilots. I brought a transport case about the size to be used in some solutions to the 5-ft-or-less HG wing; I practiced the full bus transport and hike with the "empty-hope wing" in order to test the polite bus-carry and ease of the hike. Many ideas came up during the practice transport and ride. The ideas will all be noted ultimately in this discussion thread. Frank Colver breathed out an observation that was close to the following: "he's starting out with the case" .... instead of having the solution and then casing it. Of course, once a solution is materialized there will be effort to optimize a casing for tote.

Carting or wagoning perfected for a solution will be very important so the hang glider pilot does not get too exhausted from the go-to and return-from site efforts. Aim to avoid excess mass, but get the tote system well balanced.

Note about sail solutions: Dream winnings are forwarding zippered sail sections for several reasons: mod easy, repair ease, experiment ease, tote options.

Note about solution comparisons: two-spars may have an edge for simple-sail bowsprit when accepting upper and lower rigging choice; the control of wing planes and ribbing position might give better aerodynamic results.
