Right on on the errors in the AI photo! And thanks for the invitation to the future! And AI is rapidly growing in depth ... daily. The coming super plants thinking 24/7 will surpass imaginations.

One UPHG project involves 10 CF beams 2 bendy fiberglass sticks, two washout struts, set of crosslines, set of Joe Cups, set of plugs, set of temporary-use caps, some cleaning items, sail in sections, four battens, no ribs, two balloons, high-hat parts, two small collars. If the parts were in front of me, I could assemble the wing and test it at Dockweiler to adjust tensions. Pitch stability and CG position proofing would be done. Then yaw control. Weight estimate is yet unknown. Things are close to happening. The Joe Cup details have progressed to a fine-tuned device that will take careful making. The design leaves the spar segments and finish spar from knowing torsion; this will let fine tuning the CF lay for bending and axial compression. Sail will be a challenging make task.

If I post a video of the 3 foot prototype being broken down to one thrid size , and then a Ukrainian drone killing a Russian solder will I be banned. Because that is what it will be used for.

Washout strut without spar torsion?
One possible method: confine the strut within the sail and anchor it to a station off the spar. Use upper and lower stay lines running to the kingpost and queenpost, and fix the sail at the wingtip. The result may be somewhat soft or “mushy” and could cost some performance, but the solution might be practical and acceptable. Further testing will tell. :idea: :?: :idea:

Further note regarding recent post on having CWS (chordwise washout strut) that does not fix service by use of torsion on spar:
Keep the root of the CWS on its spar station by use of a low mass freely rotatable collar. Keep the spar segment free to settle its position as it might. Spanwise locating of the little collar might be left to the influence of the sail pocket holding the CWS; slight changes in the sail tension and fixing to wingtip will slightly influence the free-to-rotate and free-to-slide anchor collar. :idea: :idea: :?: :idea: We will see what happens.

On a TPHG or UPHG project includes for me two airbeams that will probably be close to 8 ft long each. Right now I estimate they will be straight by tapered from about 8 inch diameter at one end and 5 inch diameter at the other end. The airbeams will be set upon a support consisting of two taut cables; the beams will probably be simply strapped to that support during assembly. The airbeams at tote will be deflated and carried easily in some manner. The airbeams will consist of a stable case of fabric and an interior TPU bladder. Each airbeam will feature one valve for inflation and deflation. Left airbeam. Right airbeam. Approximately inflatable conical frustums. The primary role of the airbeams will be airfoil formation. The combination of the airbeams with the cables-support base will be formers of central-span leading edge.

Inflated the weights will come from the following masses: case, bladder, valve, compressed air.
During tote, the air will not be in the deflated airbeams.
Since only two moderate airbeams will be the only objects of inflation, the inflation system may be minimized; options are from lung only to other minimal methods, perhaps using one of the spar segments in some kind of rigged pump. First level inflation might come from mechanical collapsing a billowed bag. Etc.

I don't know about naming, but I used sphere capped cones during some of my work building 3-D neuron models. These are some of my creations:

I also did some work building dynamic sphere capped cones for simulating cell growth and cell division. This animation is one example. In this case, both ends of the "cone" are the same radius, but most of the math and code would be similar if they had been different.

When I launch with such forms aiding, I'll recall the deep pathing you've experienced with the form!

Fiddling to make TPU bladders for airbeams using heat tools may be set aside in some workshops developing UPHGs (ultra-portable hang gliders) in deference to using seams of overlap and adhesives. :wave:

There is bladder flat pattern and sizing that can avoid having to carefully shape the ends; use slightly overlength blunt cuts and overlap. :idea:

Protecting L4-L5 slip and degenerate disc brings on Super Walker(SW) that holds UPHG, other gear, and allows intermittent traction of the spine during treks to flight site. The SW will also provide a privacy moment a few times during operations. Other SW functions will be explored as time rolls forward. SW will be bus friendly, train friendly, street friendly. :idea:
