I now have a new go no go. The nico should be tomorrow. It is much harder to get a used National Phone Supply tool. New they are pricey, you might consider a knock off. I researched the thimble question it seems it was only tried in the 70's and it seems like it was experimental. Recommend use the thimbles as manufactured.
The one/two sleeve method should be one sleeve but then a quality assurance protocol that is bulletproof
instead of a second sleeve. I have plans to post another topic about my protocol for nico inspection. . It was developed from the advice of two NASA grease monkeys. One, my mentor, the father of ultralight aviation Chuck Slusarczyk the other put the first Americans in space with his own two hands, the actual grease monkey who made and installed the pilot actuated control system, he's the father of me and my brothers.
