I injured my back 2 days after brush clearing by simply bending over to pick up trash so I bought this, which is an alternative 5 foot hang glider frame with out telescoping watch the videos. $35 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09QQCX392?re ... title&th=1

Thanks for the z-folding hinging non-telescopic glimpse, Doug.

Dyneema Donut made from numerous bury-spliced Dyneema sub-loops might serve as a soft rigging anchor upon a Joe-Cup, with a Joe-Cup flange preventing inboard migration. The donut distributes loads, provides redundancy, and remains fully separable for compact packing.

Consider a three-telescopic-tube left spar that transports as a single nested assembly. Let the largest tube be A, the intermediate tube B, and the outboard tube C.

Tube C never needs to store another tube within itself and can therefore be protected easily at its ends. Tube A, being the outermost member, likewise need never enter another tube and can be protected by external means.

The real engineering challenge lies with tube B. Its two ends live very different lives. The inboard end of B serves as a child inserted into A, while the outboard end of B serves as a mother receiving C. These differing roles impose differing protection requirements.

The ends of tube B therefore invite more careful engineering than either A or C.

The two mid-spar Joe-Cups attending to the assembly can be individualize as the A-B join will be distinct from the B-C join.

Optional joint strategy using a specialized Joe Cup

The rigging line terminates in a fixed loop. During assembly, this loop is slipped over the outboard end of the Joe Cup. Under assembly preload and flight loads, the loop seats firmly against a Joe Cup flange, which prevents the loop from migrating inboard toward the keel.

The Joe Cup itself is restrained against further inboard movement by a small axial flange at its outboard end that engages the end of the Mother tube. The same Joe Cup retains its U-strap feature, which limits Child-tube insertion and suppresses Mother-Child (M-C) wobble.

The Mother tube end is robustly protected by the Joe Cup structure. The inserting Child tube carries a domed cap-plug that protects its end while providing a firm bearing surface for the Joe Cup U-strap.

Many lines may similarly pile at a single Joe Cup.

I cannot work on the 5 foot hang glider movement when people email me and wish me dead in a hang glider accident.

I want to post the email on a hang gliding forum i belong to because it will negativeley effect hanggliding so shga and ushpa should know about it and i will feel better if i know my freinds know what i am going through
Thought for 5s

I understand why you want to do this.
The email is upsetting, and it makes sense that you want your hang gliding community to know (for safety awareness) and that you want support from your friends. However, posting the full private email publicly carries some risks.Better & Safer Approach (Recommended)First, report it officially through USHPA (this is the cleanest way to get it on their radar without drama):Use their Harassment Reporting Form: https://www.ushpa.org/public/pilotresou ... rting.aspx
Mention that the threat came from someone outside the community but references hang gliding, and you’re concerned about safety/reputation of the sport.
Attach the email (redacted if you want).
Contact your local club / SHGA privately (Sylmar Hang Gliding Association or whichever one you belong to):Email the club leadership or safety officer directly instead of a public forum post.
Example subject: “Safety / Community Concern – Threat Involving Hang Gliding”
For emotional support — Reach out privately to a few close flying friends and tell them what’s going on. Most pilots are supportive in these situations.
If You Still Want to Post on the ForumDo it carefully to minimize legal blowback:Do NOT post the full email or any personal contact info from Jan Burton.
Redact everything except the threatening sentence(s).
Frame it professionally and factually:“Hey everyone, I wanted to share something for awareness. In the middle of an ongoing trademark dispute with a musician named Jan Burton (formerly of Syntax UK), he sent me an email wishing I would die in a hang gliding accident. I’ve reported it to law enforcement and USHPA. Just a heads-up — this kind of thing can affect our community’s reputation and safety perception. Stay safe out there.”
Keep it short, no ranting, and focus on the safety angle.
Risks to be aware of:The other side could claim harassment or defamation if your post is inflammatory.
Forums sometimes remove posts that quote private emails.
It could escalate the overall conflict.
Strong Recommendation Right NowHold off on any public forum post for 24–48 hours.
Use that time to:File the USHPA harassment report
File the police / IC3 report (as I suggested earlier)
Talk to 1–2 trusted friends privately
Would you like me to draft:A safe, professional version for the USHPA form?
A short private message for your club leadership?
A carefully worded forum post (if you decide to go that route)?
You don’t have to go through this alone. Let me know how you want to proceed and I’ll help you word it. Stay safe up there.

Report harassment to USHPA
Consult a restraining order lawyer
Draft a safe forum post

Staying on topic:
Topic tease 1.:
Inflated stuffers? The air is already at the launch site; so air does not have to transported from home! Air at zero pressure will fill any HG tube that is open to the air.

Topic tease 2:
A solid-wall CF tube may not be the most weight-efficient way to carry compressive load. An alternative worth considering is a larger-diameter, geodesic-style truss cylinder, where material is distributed into a sparse structural lattice rather than a continuous wall. This approach could reduce net mass while improving buckling resistance through increased effective radius and more effective placement of material.

Importantly, the geodesic truss geometry can still be designed for telescopic packing, preserving the collapsible, nested segment approach originally intended for compact storage and transport.

The ends of the hybrid spar segments could remain solid-walled shelling to handle the stresses of the Joe Cups, Mother-Child overlapping, and rigging.

During tote of disassembled nested spar segments, a thin sleeve of polycarbonate film might be used to address several challenges. The sleeves would not fly, but stay ready on the ground for packing.

Tunable Anti-Wobble in the Mother–Child Joint via Two-Region Joe-Cup Strap Bulking?
I am aiming to keep generous telescopic gap to lower material costs and packing challenges. How tunable? Applique taping?

The Billy Meier Beamship UFO landing gear seem to use 3 telecopic landing gear. Maybe this is classified so I am blocked from using 3 telescopic (2 leadin edge, 1 keel)

I am dealing with the death threat with dittomusic Sony David Turnbull (Sony Lawyer assigned to case and terminated in 2024) and Spotify and Amazon.(Amazon removed content)
Image

I copied the death threat letter to an email monitered at sony subpoena at sony dot com so it has been escalated.

Look at Microsoft Stock Value versus Sony stock value over the last 5 years, Microsoft will sink Sony stock value in defense of Hang Gliding and Syntax, documentary memoirs and autobiagraphy to follow, maybe I could go hang gliding soon?
