After TCF had already a run for over 100 years in various pursuits, the triangle control frame or A-frame gets another use in 1961 as shown in the hang glider system with specially-shaped payload.

Flexible Paraglider Wing Research and Development

In 1962: One of the devices in this video has a 150 sq. ft flex-wing for its aerotow free-flight hang gliding experience with wing loading about 4 lb/ft^2 and landing using three-wheel bulky seat integrated with the trussy gimbaled A-frame. For the purpose involved, the more simple 1908 circa (e.g. Breslau) cable-stayed A-frame with pilot hung from keel (as we still use today so often in hang gliding) was not used; the project was aiming for space re-entry and recovery of high-payload objects; the aim was for unmanned uses while flight control practice with man pilot was the schedule.
That 150 ft^2 wing would be a speedy foot-launch machine using the 1908 Breslau A-frame control system. Firm wind would be wanted. Care for dive recovery mod, if one goes that route!

He is slung from keel behind A-frame or triangle control frame; the arrangement shown also has a Safe-Splat frontal ski configuration and wheels on basebar of the queen-posted arrangement. Such was good for powered flight and when engine was off for gliding flight.

In date, this was fully after hang gliding meets already had seen the hung-from-keel hang glider pilot behind the very A-frame cable stayed in a battened flexible wing hang glider footlaunched .... that we know mechanically on so many HGs today. The classic modelers book easily had the A-frame cable-stayed for landing gear and skidding.

And the example is after the 1905 patent filing by Gustave Whitehead that featured hung pilot behind control frame in flexible-wing hang glider.

Of course I enjoyed the manned flights, but it was also amazing to see the stability and recovery testing of the unmanned gliders dropped at various unusual attitudes.
