We hope someone will fully explore and expand on the article:
Popular Science - Sep 1929 - Page 56 - Google Books Result
http://books.google.com/books?id=FigDAAAAMBAJ&q=Richter#v=snippet&q=Richter&f=false
Vol. 115, No. 3 - Magazine
The longest overwater glide yet attempted is to be tried soon by Hans Richter, ... in the older type machines, by swinging the body while hanging from armrests.

The Milwaukee Sentinel carried an article by Hans Richter
The Milwaukee Sentinel - Jul 4, 1928, Wednesday morning, page 1C
The article was syndicated from Universal Service, copyrighted in 1928, and carried by the Milwaukee Sentinel and probably other papers.
The writing date was day earlier, July 3, but carried by the Sentinel on July 4.
Hans Richter wrote that the motor will in the future only be used in dead spots of the air; the rest will be gliding.

READ HERE and notice that the article continues to a page labeled "7", check at top of the newspaper page to verify the page number.
