The victim told authorities he had a couple years of experience hang gliding and didn’t catch enough wind for the chute to properly inflate, causing him to crash into the cliffs below the Glider Port.
It's disgusting how many times they call paragliders "hang gliders" here in San Diego.
I suspect that the PG conce$$ionaire is involved in this mislabelling, but I don't have direct proof.
It turns out that I work close enough to Torrey, that I walked over as soon as I heard about it. Here are some of the pictures I took at the scene:
