Powered paragliding: "The safest way to fly."
This is the 150th powered paragliding fatality that I know about.

“My son was a polite man and everyone loved him,” Omar’s father said shortly after the funeral service in Al Ain, the hometown of the family. “He always used to perform the five prayers on time. He was a nice and gentle man. He had a joyful spirit.”
Al Riyami, 24, leaves behind two children. He was employed with a natural gas company in Abu Dhabi and had been residing in Al Ain.
Omar loved flying and had been practising motorised paragliding as a hobby for five years, said his father recalling how he had asked his son to reconsider his love for paragliding out of concern for his safety given the dangers of the sport.
“I warned my son to stop practising this dangerous hobby, but he did not take my words seriously until the tragedy happened. I advise all youth who have the same hobby to leave it forever to protect their lives."

A lot of these guys who fly into power lines on their powered paragliders spark off their gas tanks and burn to death. This chap was "lucky"

This is my ode to all the lost paraglider pilots - all 1286, now dead,
most of whom would still be flying today had they chosen hang gliding.

Durability: Hang gliders are typically made of thicker dacron based materials and can easily last over 10 years. The material is also subjected to less folding than paragliders, further prolonging life. The semi-rigid fram allows a set up hang glider to be oriented to cast the smallest shadow and minimize UV exposure.

I think that would be semi-rigid "frame" not "fram".

No, Bob, that's the filter that filters out collapse particles. Every hang glider has one.
