Desert toads

Postby Bill Cummings » Mon Jun 10, 2019 10:04 pm

With the steady downpour last night and today the desert toads are out and sounding
like wounded ducks. Soon the hundreds of little toads as small as your pinkie fingernail will
be migrating north west across my yard here in Las Cruces, NM (USA). This happens about once
every five years after a soaking rain. The draining basin behind my house will be wiggling with
millions of tadpoles most of which will die as the water seeps into the ground.
It makes one wonder about the term, merciful creator.
