RE-Launch

Postby Chris McKeon » Thu Jan 13, 2022 11:38 am

Man I am just here thinking about what else? I think about Flying. You see there are flights that are on My
"BUCKET LIST" .

Yes I syiil am having thoughts regarding Flying like James Bond. But you need to know that when I feel the harness straps become taught for the first time in 11 Years and counting now. It will be a launch like I have never enjoyed.

My advice for Dockweiler is to schedule a lesson with Windsports over the weekend (May 21st or 22nd). Then you will be prepared for a fun day on May 23rd. The 23rd will be a crowded day, but you will be able to see lots of old time pilots and gliders. Then you can spend Tuesday flying without the crowds.

On the other hand, if John will be there and if he is comfortable, you could make your first flight at the Otto Meet on the 23rd with lots of people to celebrate your return to flight. Check with John to see what he thinks. I will be there either way.

Please don't rush into this Chris. You will know when you are ready, don't let anyone else fix a specific date.. You will be flying first under Windsports and John's guidance. As you know, I have previously set those conditions before you fly my Condor 330.

I personally suggest not trying to combine your first flights with a Lilienthal meet. Too much going on with many distractions. You should be the main focus of your first time back, with no time pressures.

You Guys should know that when My Harness straps become taught for the first time in 12 Years. As I feel, then set the Gliders angle of Attack. I will Scan the Air-Space for Traffic. I will then after My launch window is clear. I will call clear , I will then begin My purposeful deliberate Stride . I will soon be Air Borne for the First Time in 12 Years.

On that Day, It will be nirvana!

Your description is excellent. Keep working on your physical coordination and conditioning as well. That will be very important to flying again.
